#308: inserting images using the html editor

If you use the HTML editor to post, and try to insert an image with the Insert Image pop-up box, the box has trouble loading, and appears to be behind the information already on the page, as such:



In Opera, which I'm using, I am able to type in the pop-up box and then post a picture successfully. Some users have reported that the box is completely inaccessible in other browsers, such as Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

ETA 3/5 - fixed!

I can't do anything with that box in Chrome. It is le-broken. I can't even make it go away.

It is awesome! Also users are more likely to do it because it's right there, I think. You can't pick the icon, but otherwise.

It was always so broken on LJ. It's a horrible, horrible, horrible hack! But we'll fix what we can fix on it.

Security risk too, which I discovered when a friend and I were both at work and she forwarded me a comment email because neither of us were on LJ at the time. Replying inside the box made it appear as if the comment came from her even though I wrote it. Which we should have figured, but... there are a lot of oblivious people on the internet.

Yeah. I think LJ might have done some fixes on that, if it was a while ago, but I'm not sure.
