#310: redirecting of logged-out users

Users who are logged out are being sent to the homepage instead of being asked to login and continue.

We're interested in collecting more information about exactly when this happens so if you've experienced it, please let me know (and if you want to poke around logged out, go for it).

ETA 3/3 - this hasn't happened to people recently, so we're hoping it was fixed. If it happens again, please let me know.

Being redirected to the homepage when logged out/need to log in is behavior carried over from LJ. The site scheme on the LJ homepage is set up to show an error message telling them to log in again, which we don't have.

But in our case, we won't need the error message, because we plan to redirect them to login.bml instead:

Hrm, but the bugreport says "situations they shouldn't be", so I'm not sure what that's referring to!

I had it hit me on my dev server when I was just trying to view http://rahaeli.hack.dreamwidth.net a couple of times, for instance.

...I wonder if it's related to the adult-content flagging? Hrrrrrm.

Did these entries redirect you consistently? Were these entries locked/edited so that they were hit by the access bug before that was fixed?

If they were locked/thought locked by the system, I think that would account for the redirect to the front page (trying to get you to log in)
